Review: Kaiser is awful
I have been to Kaiser three days this week, the first day they missed diagnosed me, took my son a day later. Then I had to go back the day after that. Turns out, I had what my son had. The night I took my son, I called to get advise from a nurse, no one called me back. When I tried to voice my problem with their system, to the doctor and nurse they became offensive. I am stuck with them. God help my family and anyone else that has to be covered under Kaiser. We just went for basic care. I pray that nothing serious happens to us under their care. They just want money. They do not care about the people.

Review: The Worst
I got Kaiser to save a few bucks. It has cost me way more in poor service add on fees and non covered perscriptions. It is definatly worth spending the same or more to go with a different insurance company. Kaiser is going to get it from you one way or another, not to mention the attitude and the poor service as you are required to fill you perscriptions at their pharmacies.

Review: Kaiser Ins Beware
Folks - really take a moment to read this. I pray that it will save you some hassle, heartache and frustration.

My spouse is a County Employee & our benefits are thru his employer. Our out of pocket cost for 3 is approx $400/mo. If we want services we are VERY limited in providers and often drive an hour 1 way to got to Kaiser Gwn. If you have kids who have any preexisting conditions that require Rx's - not even "weird" ones but common things like asthma, DO NOT pick this for your family. Formulary is very limited, and you receive different info on coverage depending on who you talk to.

You CAN NOT get an existing Rx filled if the provider is not a Kasier provider. It does not matter if the Rx is on the list or not. You basically need to go to the doc in a box facility and become a member of the herd. This is MANAGED HEALTHCARE. Trust me they decide what you can and can not have taken care of, preformed, looked at and followed up on. You have VERY little say so.

Our child's asthma Rx will not be covered with out a tons of hassles, forms, waiting, drives to and fro to Gwinnett to the ONLY pharmacy that will fill non-fomulary Rx. Her med would be $150/30 days w/out ins. It's mid-April 2011 and I've been working to have this Rx covered since Feb 2011. I've filled out or had completed 5 forms thus far.

Do not let the commericals mislead you. If you are healthy, and need "just in case" coverage, then maybe. If you even think you would need to use this insurance to care for your health, then do not become a member. Once you are in, esp. thru an employer you are STUCK!

Review: Kasier Permanente CA - great
Good healthcare at reasonable rates. Caring, competent physicians and staff. Efficient processing. I can email my doctor whenever I want and get prompt, helpful replies. Labs, pharamacies, imaging, etc. are all on site. Any doctor or specialist you see can pull up your medical record on the computer terminal in their office, so care is coordinated. Online, you can look up details of your past appointments, lab results, etc. They are fast: your blood is drawn one day, your test results are available online later that day or the next, with comprehensive background information on each test and related conditions/diseases so you can interpret the results from an informed position. You can compare results going back months/years and see, for instance, how your lipid panel (cholesterol tests) are trending. I am able to look up, review, and renew my prescriptions online. I've never been denied a service, test, appointment, or referral I've requested. I enjoy much better healthcare, service, and convenience than my colleagues who have PPO plans.

This is a good insurance provider. A little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. They have met my familys needs for 3 years now and no problems so far.

Review: ARCHAIC OB/GYN DEPT
My personal experience with a provider at Baseline, Boulder, OB/GYN: a (non-doctor) woman named Comstock conveys the Kaiser paradigm of providing only "standard of care", which means the most conservative, least informed, type of medicine. There is absolutely no cooperation in working with female menopausal problems other than to put their patients on Premarin (pregnant mare urine-derived estrogen). These folks receive a D-.
I've been a member since 1971 and have never been ill; now that I'm aging, it's apparent I'll have to go out of plan for any type of progressive medicine.

Review: Easy to work with
My husband has had a Kaiser plan through work for many years. Each time we have filed a claim with them it is handled quickly and we never have to do anything. My husband had in-patient surgery and it cost us less than $700, about 1/10 of the bill. We don't use the plan very much, but every time we do we are pleasantly surprised at the quick processing of claims. When we need anything from our doctor, a quick phone call typically does the trick.

Keep in mind, this has been our experience with Kaiser. We have enjoyed doing business with them, and will continue to do so. The only downside to Kaiser is you must use the doctors and hospitals in their network. But overall, it has been a very good experience.

Review: Late premium-able 2 pay soon-no mercy at KP
I lost over half of my customers in the last year (2009). November and December were very hard months with customers deciding to not utilize my services (when they normally do). This means accounts receivable for January and Febuary are thin. Now I am only six days late on my Kaiser premium. (Managed to pay all my January bills-miraculously.) I called Kaiser to let them know that I will be receiving money, but because I am a freelance writer, I do not know when my compensation will arrive. I expect it to be soon, however I am unable to pay the bill right now. The man in accounting did not care. I was told by accounting that they have 'no grace period, no payment plans' and that 'as soon as someone sees the account is past due they will cancel it.' I am not even 30 days late! I am not even 15 days late. I am only six days late. I was transfered around, put on hold, disconnected, and put into the automated system. They made me feel horrible. Now I am determining whether I not pay my electric/gas bill instead. Do I go without heat and electricity or do I pay my health insurance premium? Hmmm. This is a very temporary situation for me, yet Kaiser does not care. I could pay as soon as one of my customers pays me, but Kaiser is unwilling to work with me. 'Thrive, unless you are struggling because of the recession, then in that case, get lost,' should be their new slogan. Their appathy really brought me down. They are just another corporation without a heart.

Review: Kaiser is the Best!
We've had Kaiser for 3 years and I have to tell you these guys really have their act together. Everything is so fast, blood work at 10am, results back via email by 5pm. need to ask your doc a question? Email them and they respond in one day...Free of charge. Too many good things to say about Kaiser, only one bad thing... we moved to South Dakota and they are not in this state. We're going to keep it though and just drive to Denver for appointments or wait until we visit family in So. Cal to see our wonderful doc.
