| Review: | Beware My husband's company switched to Coventry to save money on the premiums. Well, ever heard of the expression of cutting off your nose to spite your face? Practically every medicine that I was almost switched to a generic...had to have doctors write letters. One was just switched and I didn't know it until I got it home and looked in the bag. No explanation except for "your insurance company prefers this"...even though I had only been on the medicine for a month. No one called to see how it's working or if it's the most appropriate medicine for my issue...just switched it. This is not managed care it's a dictatorship. |

Typical review for someone who does not pay the outrageous premiums of health insurance herself. Did taking the generics hurt? They do the same job that the "Brand Names" do and cost 3 times less. Meaning that the employer can save on the renewals and families don't have to chip in as much from their paychecks because Coventry has the smarts to recommend a generic. It's called being a smart consumer. Are Rockstar Jeans or Abercrombie Jeans better than Levi's just because they are more expensive and have the "Brand"? Lori is the reason that this country is putting itself into massive debt. We don't want to be smart consumers and ask questions. We just want to get what we want when we want it and damn the costs. Now we all have to pay higher taxes for health care reform because Lori can't take a generic. Thanks Lori. |

Whoever wrote this last comment is obviously a Republican :-P I agree with Lori. Coventry sucks and I would only reccomend it to small businesses who don't give a rats ass about their employees, or people I'd like to see die a slow, expensive death.... |

You're right Tosha, Coventry does suck big time. My insurance card isn't worth the paper its printed on. Everywhere I go to try and get medical service, I'm turned down because NO ONE seems to accept coventry healthcare of florida. I pay almost $600/month for health insurance and I have to go all the way to Broward or Miami-Dade county to receive any type of medical care. Its just rediculous! |

Coventry Health Care of Florida is a disgusting heartless EXPENSIVE company that only cares about receiving their premiums. Steer very far away from this company and make sure your employers know they are paying too much for too little if you are on a plan via your work. It was the worst coverage I have had in my life and serves only its own corporate interests! I was treated poorly and one of their contacts Cynthia was defensive and unprofessional. When I see their billboards (our premium money, not health care quality) I want to scream STAY AWAY from this insurance company! |

Before anyone attacks my political position, I am self-employed, in perfect health and pay my own premiums 100% !! I was with Coventry for 3 years and in that timeframe my premiums doubled shy of $50 . They are a money grubbing machine that cares only about their fiscal earnings, not the quality of health care that one would expect for one of the most expensive Health Care Companies in the industry. Blue Cross Blue Shield has stepped up to the plate and now understands how to accommodate the individual/family at a much better price and much better coverage. I advise everyone as a very happy BCBS customer to give them a second look. Once upon a time BCBS was the big $$$$ company but they are awesome now and really understand the plight of many Americans struggling to pay for their health insurance. Even for business reasons they get it and are ahead of the curve. My wish for Coventry is that there is a mass exodus to BCBS from Coventry. Wake up folks, take time out to explore options! |

The Broward County Board of County Commssioners chooses to screw its employees with Coventry. They are the worse in Healthcare! They are expensive and they pay the medical professionals next to nothing for services. My only wish is that the 9 County Commissioners be forced to use this awful excuse of a healthplan. Coventry could not shine the shoes of GHI or Blue Cross Blue Shield. This compnay should be out of business. They are the worse in healthcare! If they stopped playing mommie and daddy maybe they would save us some money. I had parents I do not need them calling me at home to see if I am getting an annual physical. These calls to an employees home are invasive and insulting! Quite frankly, I think they should be deemed illegal. |

So frustrated with Coventry and their National Network plan. They say if you find a Dr on our website they are participating then they take forever to pay the Dr. When we question the bills the Drs. office send us they say oh they are non participating. I pulled up the Dr online on their website while on the phone with the CSR from Coventry and she says no that information is wrong. I mean really you guys have no clue whats going on within Coventry. The last time I got stuck with a $1000 + bill from a hospital because every time Coventry recommended a Dr to me for my ultrasound and I tried to make an appt with them the office would say no we do not know this insurance, finally I was sent to a medical center which was participating and what happens I get stuck with a deductible which I have to pay. God save others from this devils company. |
