| Review: | Okay Insurance...As Long as You DON'T NEED IT! I had a Celtic PPO individual plan for about 2.5 years until I got a good job that provides good insurance. I found that Celtic provided decent insurance, as long as I did not use it. I am a healthy woman and only used the insurance for regular visits to my OB/Gyn. A better and more affordable option would have been getting a bare-bones/emergency coverage policy from BCBS and paying out of pocket for gyno exams at Planned Parenthood, which operates on a sliding scale. I am still paying off my medical bills, which were accrued over the past two years and consist of routine procedures and various routine female-health related tests. I only have $650 to go! To put that in perspective, when I had BCBS, I paid a $20 co-pay per visit and that was it. The customer service staff at Celtic is apathetic at best. Just get a BCBS policy, or something that will actually cover the cost of your healthcare. You will pay more in premiums, but less out of pocket in the long run! Or move to Canada, in which case you won't pay a dime. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | BERWARE! DIRTY COMPANY!!!! I went through ehealthinsurance to get a 1 month brdge policy for me and my son while between jobs. Once I was approved they told me that I wouldnt be eligible for coverage until a week after I was eligible for coverage at my new job, mind you this was weeks away. I called ehealthinsurance and they gave me an email address to send a note to to tell them the situation and they told me that I would be canceled and reimbursed. I sent 3 emails with no response. I finally called them and explained my situation to a PERSON named Naomi. She told me that my email was sent within the timeframe that would allow a refund. She called me back at work 5 minutes later, gleefully telling me that "we have you on a technicality" you didnt type your full name at the end of the email that you sent us to cancel. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? No one ever told me to do so, and does it matter? Do they think that someone hacked my email and maliciously canceled my health insurance to sabotage me? I asked for a manager to call to discuss 3 x and have not yet received a call. This is a VERY DIRTY company!!!! STAY AWAY! There are way better options out there. ehealthinsurance should be more careful as to whom they use to represent them! Comments [ 1 ] |

| Review: | "That's not my problem" In the 50 days since I initally applied for coverage with Celtic, I have been on the phone with customer service at least 3 dozen times. Access to online services still was not working after 4 requests, but there's another department responsible for that. My application as printed in the certificate booklet did not contain all the data I entered on the online application (which I printed out to be sure), but there's another department responsible for that and you can't speak to them directly. This is, of course, assuming their call center is even working - on several occasions their systems were simply down so they couldn't even record my call or my request. No one seems to have a pen and paper anymore, and nothing is ever anyone's actual responsibility, so good luck if you choose to wander through their little phone menu "rat mazes". Doctors do not want to work with Celtic insurance and when I went to see one they were unable to have coverage verified timely, so I was given 2 choices: 1) Pay for the appointment out of pocket in addition to your premium, then submit a claim yourself; or 2) Pay for a missed appointment in addition to your premium and reschedule your visit for a time when Celtic can verify your coverage. The receptionist even warned me to find other coverage as soon as possible, because Celtic is a nightmare. I was very angry by this point and left the doctor's office to fax a cancellation letter to Celtic's customer service, only to be informed within minutes that I was too late to have my policy cancelled back to the (in)effective date. Basically, they were going to keep my money and there was nothing I could do about it. These people care only for their processes, procedures, and policy statutes. They care nothing for you, your health, or your convenience. Don't give them your business!!! You wouldn't pay a gas station to pump hot air into your tank, and this company doesn't do much better. I'm just glad I only lost $150 and all those hours on the phone with this debacle. If anything serious had occurred health-wise, I doubt I'd survive their incompetencies. Comments [ 2 ] |

| Review: | Don't be fooled Don't be fooled by lower premiums. We shopped for months for the best coverage at an affordable and fair rate. After less than 3 years of increases every 6 months our rate has increased over $3200 per year! I have requested an explanation of such exorbitant increases, and never received anything. My family is very healthy and rarely even uses the covered at 100% benefits. No one at Celtic is willing to explain such rate hikes to me. It is a deceiving sales gimmick to lure people in then trap you with the increases. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Rejected even though healthy I had the same experiences as a reviewer below. I rarely see the doctor, have no health issues, and I'm young (just turned 27). I applied for a high-deductible (catastrophic) plan. Surprisingly, I was rejected. I sent in a written request to Celtic (by snail mail. Seriously.), and they said the reason was that I "had a history of" fractures. About three years ago, I had a broken wrist. It was treated and healed completely. So it looks like they treat completely run-of-the-mill injuries that happened YEARS ago as pre-existing conditions. In order to actually see the record, I would have to pay them a fee in addition to the application fee. I understand that a chronic condition might get me rejected because, after all, insurance companies are businesses. But this is just absurd. If this company's underwriting is so bad, I doubt their ability to pay claims. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | The worst customer service I have been with this company for 3 months so far, and I will terminate it next month for sure.. Their customer service is very bad.. Their agents are rude and they don't care at all about their customers. I requested some materials to be sent by mail, I never received them .. My health care provider are also finding difficulty in submitting the claims.. They keep sending the claims back and ask them to send them back to them again!!! No one wants to work and no one helps! Decided to go for more expensive health insurance rather than stay with this "CHEAP" company.. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Disappointed from the start I'm not one to jump to conclusions normally; however, I am extremely disappointed in Celtic. Moments following the submission of my application I recieved an e-mail indicating my application had been rejected (this was a bit surprising given that I am a healthy, non-smoking applicant with little of significance in my medical history, but I went ahead and shrugged it off as "just one of those things") Later, I recieved a self-proclaimed encripted e-mail (which I was not expecting) saying Celtic had important information regarding my application and asking me to sign up for a special e-mail account with them. While I wasn't expecting this e-mail (and was therefore leery, especially given that it required the acceptance of a lengthy/wordy terms of agreement) I assumed this was for enhanced security purposes. In this special e-mail account was another letter from Celtic claiming special information regarding my application was attached. Given the questionable nature of the e-mail itself and the ambiguous title of the attachment, I had no reason to believe the attachment was not some form of virus, and therefore wanted to confirm with a representative they had indeed sent the e-mail. However, both times I attempted to call I waited over 20 minutes with no indication that I was actually on hold (no music, no check-in, nothing...) despite the fact that I chose the appropriate option. I tried once more attempting to get a hold of a representative using a different avenue through the phone tree and was immediately hung up on. I cannot say for certain whether the "encripted" e-mail I received was lagitimate or not. I do have a friend who was a Celtic customer who said she had similar issues with them (hence why she switched providers). If this is how this company handles potential customers, I do not want to know how they handle their actual customers. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Celtic caused 1st time lapse in coverage This company is awful. I paid for my first month of coverage, then they informed me via letter that my bank information was incorrect. I tried to check it online, but could not log in to their online system. I called them and set up a conference call between them and my bank to verify the information and figured everything would be fine after that since I had set up automatic payments. However, I was still not able to log in online. Then, I had a Dr. appointment and went to it, only to find out the day after that Celtic had canceled my insurance a month ago! They never even informed me! The letter they sent after my appointment said that they "tried to contact me" but I never had any messages or letters other than that one. I found out from the customer service rep that my policy had been canceled without my knowledge. Now I am out a lot of money because I went to that Dr.'s appointment assuming that I had insurance. They are now still claiming that the bank information is wrong even though it reads EXACTLY as it is on my checks and my bank told me no one tried to access my account as they claim to have done. For the first time in my life, I have a lapse in coverage thanks to Celtic insurance and their inability to communicate with their customers. Final word: DO NOT EVEN TRY TO GET CELTIC INSURANCE!!! | Review: | Won't Pay Claims! Beware! One of the absolute WORST health insurance companies I've ever had. My daughter had a claim, but for six months now they keep trying to find a way to classify it as a pre-existing condition (which it is not), so they will not have to cover it. What really bothers me is that my deductible is so high, it ultimately won't cost them any "out of pocket" costs, but I can't get my "final cost" until they settle on this claim. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Cheat and Fraud Guys remember there are so many things in Insurance. I usually check everything, but these guys really cheated me. I had 2 biopsy's done in a doctor visit. Ispite of having an insurance which costs 125 a month I got a bill of 500 dollars, all they say is it is going to your deductible and they pay only 60 bucks. They first said that the biopsy's were covered in my first call and after the bill they say that the biopsy is lab work and is not covered. They lied to me because I cancelled my insurance after seeing this bill. Please beware guys. Comments [ 1 ] |

| Review: | Had terrbile experience with Celtic I had celtic Individual HSA Insurence in 2008 and 2009. My therapist suggested that I should get depression medication. So, I consulted a physician for prescription lexa-pro. He suggested I should get general health test to ensure I was healthy which I took. The bill was $570, Celtic denied the claim, declaring the reason to be a pre-existing condition. I called Celtic, learned that the information the physician provided to Celtic indicated that the health test were to diagnose the depression. I believed that the health tests had nothing to do with the depression but were general health test that were covered according to my policy documents. Asked my doctor to write to Celtic and explain the tests weren't for depression, which he did. I called Celtic and asked for status, the representative was extremely disrespectful and was rejecting everything I told her. I damned the Celtic in my head and canceled the insurance. Payed the $570 bill, but it shows up on my Credit reports as unpaid and lowers my credit score. Prior to the above mess, I called Celtic twice to get information about setting up and using Health Savings Account(HSA), didn't get any useful information from Celtic. I moved to California in March 2009, and Celtic doubled my premium without notifying me. I found out that premium was doubled several month after I moved. If they had notified me, i would have canceled Celtic insurance immediately. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I have been without insurance for about 2 years, due to being laid off at work. Well I finally was able to afford it and looked into what would cover the dr that I had previously had. That was Celtic. Short story, I never had any medical problems before, and I dont have anything major now but out of the 4 prescriptions my dr has written (one that was needed to balance hormonal levels..thus very important) the insurance would only cover 1. and it was a 20 day supply of Soma (which is like 10 bucks without insurance ) for a pinched nerve. I called asking why they wouldnt cover the most important one and they told me that they would have to forward it to their PA department who waited 2 1/2 weeks to tell me that they wouldnt fill it and suggested a different medication which was fine with me. Until i started using it and it caused red welts all over my body (i was obviously allergic) so i contacted the company again to be put on what the dr originally prescribed and they told me i would have to send it in writing as well as my dr would have to. Fine. Done and Done....now 3 weeks after that I still have no medication and I have called them twice a day for the last 3 weeks and keep getting (from their rude phone people) the answer "its still pending" So basically I have a feeling they are just trying to push me until I give up (which i wont) But at all costs DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY....I only took this one because it went well with my Dr. But save yourself the money and the headache. Go with someone with a much better Rep! Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Horrible Horrible Horrible Insurance At first when I was looking for insurance this looked perfect. I was looking for basic coverage to be able to get medicine and go to the doctor if I was sick. I am a female and we all know that OB/GYN appointments are very important especially when you are 23 or older. I was told the $30 copay would be in affect but that only covered a consultation. Basically for them to say hello to me was covered. Nothing else. I would have to pay for cancer screening and everything else that is normal to be done at the doctor's. Birth control wasn't covered and most other medication weren't covered either. I was allowed 1 doctor's visit per year. Another "hello" visit. Absolutely horrible insurance. Do not waste your time. The woman had to put me on hold every time I had a question. Ridiculous. They should not be allowed to be an insurance carrier. Worst waste of money ever. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Worthless Coverage Celtic is cheap but buyer beware. They dont cover costs for Doctors THEY send you to, they refuse medications routinely, requiring hours of calls to fight for claims which are ultimately still unpaid because of monumental energy required to fight for small and large claims. Customer service is run by low-level lackeys who do nothing more than give standard script replies of "sorry for inconvenience" instead of solving actual problems. This is absolutely the WORST insurance company Ive ever even heard about. The cheap premiums are extremely expensive when fighting time and lack of coverage are factored in. Worthless. I encourage all other misguided customer in joining me to file complaint with the State Dept of Insurance (FL: https://apps.fldfs.com/eService/Home.aspx) and Better Business Bureau. Comments [ 1 ] |

Each claim has required countless hours of circular calls, wrong numbers and addresses given to myself and my providers.
