Review: Covered everything for my cancer treatment!
My policy premium is not high because I have a $2500 deductible but after that, they covered absolutely everything. I've had to make a few calls for some claims that were denied but once I followed up on them, they were all paid. BCBS has paid out over $100 thousand for my cancer treatment so far and I only pay $250/month plus my deductible. The customer service is absolutely wonderful, I've had some ladies call my personally to followup and make sure my problems were solved. I'd recommend BCBSFL to anyone.

I am very happy that everything worked out for Angelica. I know how bad the cancer thing can be, my mother had colon cancer and survived. However, my comment is not entirely about that. At least three years ago, I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my left leg. I was on a drug called cumadin which is a powerful blood thinner. I was under the care of three doctors here in Jacksonville, Florida, who gave me different answers to my question own my condition. In April, 2007 I was rushed to a local hospital after having bled for two days from the cumadin. I had to have a filter put in my chest to help control the blood clot, as well as still taking the cumadin. I do not recall how much I had to pay at the time, I paid for coverage since I was working.

When I left the place where I work to become a full time caregiver, I was offered the group cobra of $400.00 a month which was not to bad. I paid for a period of 18 months (as the law allows).
When the 18 month period was over, I had to switch to an individual coverage which was $850.00 a month mostly for my pre-existing condition (blood clot).

Recently, the amount of monthly coverage has been raised again so now I have to pay $882.00 per month starting in April of this year. I do not understand this since I was told that my coverage would not go up for the rest of my life. It would be nice to obtain some answers to this.
