Review: Meeting my mediocre expectations
We've had Anthem for a couple of years. It is an individual plan, so it is over $300/mo. for myself & my husband (with a fairly high deductible). I appreciate that they are accepted almost everywhere.
I also appreciate that the premiums can be done w/ auto pay (although if you don't want this service, I think they now charge you for paper bills).
The individual plan doesn't include maternity coverage except "complications of pregancy". I had a miscarriage & had to go to an OB/GYN & have an ultrasound. At 1st, Anthem denied it, but when I called, the representative was quite sympathetic & said it did fall within their definition of complication & processed it accordingly.
I used to work for a DR. I think every insurance company is a pain to deal with. Some customer reps are fine & some are incompetent & rude at every company. Anthem is, overall, better than most.
