| Review: | Rate swapping I purchased Anthem Medigap plan F online within the signup window ending Dec 7, 2011. The advertised price was $117.60 for the monthly premium. I was approved in writing Dec 8 2011 via email. On Jan 16, 2012 I was billed $128.77 for a monthly premium. The only explanation given was it was due to a technical error. Is this type of deceptive pricing allowable? Is it a common practice that I was naive about? Is there any recourse? Thank you Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | abused Our policy, for 2 people with a $5,000 Deductible went from $1,000 to $1,850 per month in one increase. When we were told of the new rate we applied for a different policy with them. They "pre-appoved" us then 2 1/2 months later changed their decision leavening us 2 months into the new policy period with the old rate. Pure greed. Comments [ 1 ] |

| Review: | expect to wait forever to get approved We have been waiting over a month to find out if we are approved. Today Jan 20 I was told they were reviewing phone interviews from 12/22! When I did my phone intervie they sd they would have an answer in 7-10 days. Now they say another 10 days. This is with no health issues. If they can't get their sh*t together for an application, what in the world are they like on claims? Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Solid coverage, large provider network. Our family has coverage provided in part by my employer. We are contracted with the Anthem Colorado PPO plan. Unfortunately, this year we have had nearly $50,000 in medical bills and have had to use our health insurance much more than usual. Anthem has paid 99% of the provider claims (there are about 40 total) without any problems whatsoever. The only problem we have had is a billing issue with the provider, who we won't use again. The coverage with Anthem is fantastic, especially with the Bluecard network, which allows us to use all BCBS providers across the country at in-network rates. This has come to be very helpful when traveling across the country to see specialists. While the plan we have is expensive (about $10,000 a year for family coverage), the quality of service provided by Anthem has been excellent. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Meeting my mediocre expectations We've had Anthem for a couple of years. It is an individual plan, so it is over $300/mo. for myself & my husband (with a fairly high deductible). I appreciate that they are accepted almost everywhere. I also appreciate that the premiums can be done w/ auto pay (although if you don't want this service, I think they now charge you for paper bills). The individual plan doesn't include maternity coverage except "complications of pregancy". I had a miscarriage & had to go to an OB/GYN & have an ultrasound. At 1st, Anthem denied it, but when I called, the representative was quite sympathetic & said it did fall within their definition of complication & processed it accordingly. I used to work for a DR. I think every insurance company is a pain to deal with. Some customer reps are fine & some are incompetent & rude at every company. Anthem is, overall, better than most. Comments [ 0 ] |
