| Review: | Claim to never receive referrals I've been dealing with Aetna claiming that I did not get a referral for my specialist. I sent them 3 copies of it and Aetna will pay a few correctly and then just go back to 50% payments. I've spent about 30 phone calls about this but I'm almost ready to give up and let the crooks win. VERY DISSAPOINTING. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Worth It? Yes, Aetna is expensive. If I'm paying over two grand a year on my own health care, I wish they would stop being so hard on what they cover and how much. The postitive things I can say is that one visit to the hospital came to over $7,000 and I only paid $220. The customer service isn't bad at all. They return calls when they say they're going to. Is it worth the price? Thats up to you. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Costly but worth it My family and I never had a problem with Aetna Open Access "High" Option. other then it's monthly premium. Never had issuses with customer service. In fact on many accounts they came to bat for me when the hospital/Dr. office tried to charge me unnecessary charges when having my baby. The only reason not still going through them is their premium tends to increase by $300.00 a month every couple years. Comments [ 0 ] |

| Review: | Lost Appointment I showed up for my standard GYN appointment - first time at a new doctor. The doctor's assistant was told by the recording and also by a representative (for confirmation) at Provider Services that I needed a referral from my PCP in order to see the GYN doctor. I had researched this beforehand and I do NOT need a referral according to my coverage details. I told this to the assistant who then told it to the Aetna representative. Then, the assistant handed me the phone. The Aetna representative said, "I do not know why she handed you the phone, I cannot talk to you." He repeated this several times and insisted to the assistant that I needed a referral. As soon as I got home, I checked my documents and found that I do not need a referral. I plan to make a formal complaint for wasting my time (I had to leave work in the middle of the day to get this appointment) and an appointment (which is hard to get). Comments [ 0 ] |
